Social Film Drama

NEWS - 'New Partnership Moves People to Understand and Change'

Glennie McIntosh has joined forces with award-winning film-makers Omni to create powerful social film dramas highlighting the plight of some of Britain’s most vulnerable people.

The new partnership was formed following ground-breaking work on two new films – Protecting Jayne and The Overdose Notes.

“We feel the partnership has something special to offer,” said Ian Glennie, Director of Glennie McIntosh. “Omni has a unique style of film-making which has real authenticity and emotional depth, while Glennie McIntosh has the combination of a deep understanding of social issues and ten years’ marketing experience in this area.”

The first films were commissioned by public bodies to inform a target audience and both proved highly effective at engaging interest and stimulating debate about the issues addressed.

The Overdose Notes charted the death of a drug addict following his release from prison and Protecting Jane chronicled the release and rehabilitation of a paedophile. Both have had a profound emotional impact on their audiences, generating empathy and provoking the will to make a difference.

This winning partnership is already researching new films, for which it is seeking funding.
