Social Film Drama is a social enterprise. We take no profit as dividend. We invest our income in social film drama productions, including responding to people’s requests for various film-based training materials, as well as supporting agencies delivering front line services to survivors of domestic abuse.
We are currently assessing the following social film drama projects for funding and further development:
- A prequel to Leaving showing how Helen got into the relationship and a sequel showing how she finally leaves. Taken together we hope this trilogy of short films will develop into a feature length film that can be distributed through cinemas.
- A film following Liam’s story more closely – and how his experience as a child in an abusive family shapes his future
- A social film drama on honour violence and forced marriages
- A website of short clips showing the multiple inter-connections between abuse and violence throughout the life course of an individual and community
